Even though he's a deserving Hall of Famer, it seems that Tony Perez was never fully given his due as an integral cog in "The Big Red Machine" that consistently flashed all-star quality numbers year after year. The Cuban-born first baseman never tipped the scales at 200 lbs. yet flashed plenty of power, topping the 20 home run mark nine times with a career-high of 40 dingers in 1970 while driving in 90 or more runs for 11 consecutive seasons. Presented is Tony Perez's 1965 Topps rookie card, one of just 4 to earn a grade of PSA 10. The featured card is thoroughly pack-fresh, with corners and edges that are unquestionably GEM MINT quality. The image of the rookie trio is exceptionally sharp, but the 22-year-old Perez steals the spotlight with his electrifying smile and support from the subtle yellow backdrop. The blue pigmentation on the back is both bold and even, and the spotless white canvas displays deep black printing of the players' minor league achievements with perfect clarity. Be prepared to make a serious run if you want to snag this one as the top combatants on the PSA Set Registry will all be taking notice!
