The 1964 Topps hockey collection was their first attempt at "tall-boys," a format they would be repeated in the 1965 football set and the 1969 and 1970 basketball sets. The 110-card collection, led by Bobby Hull and Gordie Howe, continues to grow in popularity a half-century later. Building a complete set is already a pretty impressive accomplishment, but putting the assemblage together with every card autographed is a lifetime achievement for even the most seasoned collector. The featured set comes about as close as you can get, within six autographs of totality! The only cards not included are #5, 6 Sawchuk, 90, 92, 102 Horton, and 105 Horton. Particularly difficult autographed cards included in the series are #8 Bergman, 14 Henry, 23 Provost, 32 Green, 33 Beliveau, 41 Hillman, 47 Crozier, 58 Williams, 69, Armstrong, 75 Brewer, and 88 Tremblay. And of course, that includes signed cards of the big names like #20 and 107 Hull, 31 Mikita, 43 Blake, 45 Imlach, 68 Plante, 89 Howe, and 100 Bucyk. The two checklists are included (unsigned) and each auto is authenticated and slabbed by PSA/DNA.
