Depicting the two sluggers affectionately known as the "M&M" boys who would electrify the sports world in 1961 with their race for the home run crown, the offered pasteboard shows all the characteristics of a NM card but has an (ST) qualifier attached, presumably due to a bit of wax on the front surface. Mantle edged out Maris for the crown in 1960 by just a single round-tripper, setting the stage for the epic battle of 1961.
