There aren't many original Type I photos of Roger Maris before his heroic New York Yankee days, but this 8 x 10 black and white press photo captures the young Maris on his way up the ladder to stardom. Light wear is evident with the Wide World Photo stamp on the back and teletype paper identifying Maris and the date on the reverse (detached).
