Unquestionably one of the most coveted cards from the groundbreaking 1954 Topps issue is the final card of the set, card #250, Ted Williams, offered here in a seemingly conservative grade of NM/MT 8 from PSA. Strong MINT or better corners at all points but the NM/MT bottom right join NM/MT+ to MINT edges around an incredibly appealing NM/MT+ obverse that would no doubt qualify for GEM consideration if not for two minor areas of print along the right border. Both images are sublime, and the vibrant canary-yellow backdrop, excepting the aforementioned periphery print, is nearly immaculate. Apparently, the self-evident obverse centering preference for the right border and perhaps a touch of chipping along the reverse upper edge are the only real qualities indicative of the opined grade. A noticeably brilliant example positively shimmering with that appealing pack-fresh quality (or special "it" factor) usually encountered on only MINT to GEM MINT specimens.
