Graded MINT 9 by PSA. The featured collectible can surely trace its roots to Bruce Yeko, in the 1960s and early 1970s, Bruce Yeko's Wholesale Cards had a quantity of high-grade Red Hearts in stock, which he somehow had obtained directly from the company. Included were a stack of Mint Mantles that he originally priced at a quarter each. He eventually raised the price all the way to a dollar before running out. Virtually all Red Heart Mantles in MINT condition, including this one, originated decades ago from Bruce Yeko, one of the hobby's earliest full-time card dealers. The offered card is well centered with a deep well focused image of the young Mantle in what has developed into one of his most iconic cards. Each of the four corners are well defined points of distinction with each one seemingly being sharper than the last. The reverse is a slate gray stock that offers a perfect palate for the deeply black inked bio of the feared slugger. A stunning and altogether enchanting MINT specimen!
