Graded 88 (8) NM/MT by SGC. The offered example is 1 of just 3 copies of this immensely popular card that has been graded NM/MT by SGC with only 3 examples graded nominally higher. The centering is precise in its rendition from east to west as well as top to bottom, and the surface of this elusive regional issue is bright and white without a disturbance of the dirty appearance that most commonly plagues the issue. The four corners are at the very top end of the grade, and three of the four corners approach a level surpassing the opined grade. with the lower left showing an ever so slight wisp of clean wear. The color is astounding and shows the immortal Mantle in a head and shoulders pose featuring a full Texas-sized smile. The reverse is as stunning as the obverse, with a clean undisturbed appearance. In conclusion, an amazing card that is without question the finest 1954 Dan Dee Mantle we have ever offered.
