The offered example of Mantle's 1954 Bowman card has been graded MINT 96 (9) by SGC and as such is 1 of just 3 copies of this card that has been graded MINT with none graded higher. Mantle was spotted by Bob Greenwade as he attended a Baxter Springs Whiz Kids game to scout Mickey's teammate Billy Johnson and saw Mantle hit homeruns from both sides of the plate. The offered card is exceptional in its presentation with an exceptionally well centered image and four utterly spectacular MINT points for corners. The surface is smooth and projects the visual aesthetics of very few cards. A subtle lightly hued image of the iconic slugger projects to the enthusiast who is captivated by the well focused image.
