Graded NM/MT 8 by PSA. Of the nearly 1900 copies of this card that have been graded the offered card is trumped by a mere 8 copies that have been graded at higher levels than the offered copy. At first inspection of the offered card it quickly becomes abundantly clear that this not just another card. The visual aesthetics of this pasteboard are far superior to what is normally encountered. The image of the famed young slugger appears deep and well defined with even the shading in the facial area giving exceptional depth to the entire image. The colors are pleasing with a combination of blues and reds creating a presentation that goes beyond merely looking at a baseball card but rather like encountering a piece of artwork. The centering is astute and well within PSA's stringent standards with a subtle preference to the right. The corners are of a caliber higher than the opined level with the all important lower left red corner showing no blemishes and seemingly placing this revered card at an altogether different level. The surface shimmers with the aid of an exquisite layer of gloss while the reverse is spectacular with no thought of wax or staining. A triumphant example of one of Mickey's most beloved cards offered in outstanding, exceptionally high-grade NM/MT condition.
