Whether it was intended or not, Topps gave collectors plenty of "drama" when they produced their inaugural baseball card set. What was supposed to be complete at 407-cards has massively expanded, with red backs, black backs, white backs, gray backs, and Johnny Sain/Joe Page wrong backs making for an interesting time amassing a truly complete assemblage. Now we go one step further with the ultra-rare Frank Campos "black star" card, one more piece of the puzzle for your checklist. Graded PSA 4, this card shows the customary centering shift but it's relatively inoffensive while the image quality and clean surfaces are in advance of the grade. A tough key card that master set builders should be actively pursuing.
