As a youngster, Paige gained fame pitching for a semi-pro team called the "Down The Bay Boys" when after working himself into a jam and frustrated by his performance, he instructed the outfielders to come into the infield, and then he retired the final two batters of the game! The offered specimen is a shining example that boasts many attributes of a higher graded card. Near perfect centering with spot on registration of the image. The teal colored background lends a gentle cool feel as could only be found on a card portraying "Satchel." The four corners are prodigious points with only the upper right showing a microtouch at the tip of the corner. The reverse is exceptionally well printed and void of any flaws.
