While many cards submitted to PSA with centering like this 1948 Bowman card of Ernie Calverley might be spared the qualifier, when you have an example as important as the #1 card in Bowman's inaugural set, featuring many MINT and GEM MINT attributes from perimeter strength to image quality, it seems that PSA really doesn't have a choice. While favoring the upper left quadrant, the framing really isn't that far off, and the card's other qualities are so amazingly superior that it still qualifies as one of the finest in existence.
