On June 4th, 1947, Dodgers outfielder Pete Reiser had a collision with the wall at Ebbets Field that almost killed him. No stranger to reckless play, having been taken off the field on a stretcher 11 times during his career, Reiser crashed into the centerfield wall and lost consciousness but held onto the ball. Last rights were administered in the clubhouse before he was taken to the hospital, where he remained for ten days and returned to the lineup a month later. This ticket stub is from that horrific event. PSA authenticated.
