This is a tremendous posed original Type 1 photo of The Bambino, Babe Ruth. The photo measures approximately 8" x 6" and is in magnificent condition. The cream colored reverse has the stamp "Photographed by Hal McAlpin." This indicates to us that this still photo was taken during the filming of "Pride of The Yankees," the Oscar winning movie starring Gary Cooper. According to IMDB.com, a movie database, McAlpin was an uncredited Still Photographer for the Lou Gehrig biopic. There have been other Hal McAlpin stamped stills which have surfaced in various auctions from the movie with the Babe and Cooper together. Some areas of crazing on the surface are exhibited, none of which detract from the Ruthian image. A photo which has history built in, Oscar worthy of being in the best baseball photo collections. Letter of Authenticity from PSA indicating this is a Type 1 First Generation photograph.
