The final year of production of the Play Ball series by Gum, Inc. occurred in 1941, the year that Joe DiMaggio registered his famous 56-game hitting streak, also the same year as Ted Williams' historic .406 batting average. The issue is clearly superior aesthetically to the previous two releases, done in full color and offering detailed, sophisticated artwork. The offered set is largely VG to EX overall, with some nicer and some lesser. Keys include 6 Hubbell VG, 8 Ott Trimmed, 10 Vaughan VG, 13 Foxx PR (Glue on Back), 14 Williams VG+, 18 Greenberg VG, 54 Reese GOOD+, 70 Dickey MC, 71 DiMaggio GOOD, 72 Gomez VG.
