A classic shot of "The Kid" on this early 1940's Type I Original News Service Photo which so eloquently captures the essence of the perfect swing. Measuring 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, the offered image provides a well balanced full body depiction of this great American hero who served the U.S. Navy during both World War II and Korea as a bomber pilot, completing more than 40 missions in 2 wars, and getting shot down in battle on one occasion. Overall condition is a modest Very Good to Excellent due to a horizontal crease along the bottom portion which in no way intrudes upon the central image. LOA from PSA/DNA.
