Graded SGC 88 NM/MT 8. A tremendously sharp example of Dizzy Dean's 1934 Goudey issue that must be considered among the very finest extant. One of the key cards to the '34 Goudey issue, behind just the famous Jimmie Foxx and Lou Gehrig issues, this superior example reports just 2 competitors in its class at SGC with just 1 higher, with just 4 higher on record at PSA. Uniformly NM/MT+ corners join MINT edges on all sides but the NM/MT top, which displays some subtle contours along the extreme reverse periphery. The front displays relatively accurate centering for the issue, with just a minor inclination for the south, while the noticeably rich image boasts accurate registration with a thorough saturation of bold colors throughout. Unusually sharp for its grade, and far better than almost every PSA 8 example we've ever seen, the only perceivable feature precluding higher consideration is a scattered handful of pixel-sized pin pricks of black print throughout the extreme upper field. Every other feature is significantly above-grade.
