Graded NM/MT 8 by PSA. With two cards of the "Iron Horse" in the 1934 Goudey release and none of Babe Ruth, Gehrig was on his way to stepping out of the immeasurable shadow of his more star struck teammate. It was in the 1934 season that Gehrig displayed and achieved one of the most statistically amazing seasons in Baseball history with a triple crown performance that would include a .363 BA, 49 HR and 165 RBIs. Of the 515 copies of this legendary card that have been graded by PSA, a mere 5 examples have graded at a higher level than the offered example. Upon inspection of the offered pasteboard the very first attribute that commands the attention of the enthusiast is the nearly perfectly centered image framed by four flawlessly white borders. The interior of the card garners every bit the same attention with a smashing teal backdrop acting as a suitable palate for the great batsman. A pleasingly well focused image allows all onlookers to see a stunning rendition of the "Iron Horses" face with inexplicable flesh tones creating a feast for the senses. All four of the corners step up to the plate and deliver on their own accord with a minimal NM/MT appearance. The reverse is a smashing success in its own right with a fresh undisturbed appearance void of any nagging distraction. A stunning and powerful example provided to the masses in alluring and magical NM/MT or better condition.
