With Mickey Cochrane, Jimmie Foxx, and Al Simmons in the starting lineup, Lefty Grove (and his 31-4 record) on the mound, and Connie Mack as the skipper, the 1931 Philadelphia Athletics pulled off an incredible 107-45-1 record before bowing to the St. Louis Cardinals in a seven-game World Series. All five Cooperstown immortals, and more, pose for this wonderful team panoramic that shows a visible size of 16 1/2" x 8" within the frame, measuring approximately 22" x 14." Other than a wrinkle in the lower right corner, the photo shows nothing more than minute blemishes anywhere on the surface. The quality of the photo is so sharp and precise that it proves how much the Wagner Studio of Philadelphia was ahead of their time. Any baseball historian would love this!
