While it was a popular way to portray sports teams at the time, history has proven that these incredible panoramas didn't stand up well to the rigors of time, which is why they have become so rare and valuable. Offered is a stunning and altogether captivating collectible of the 1926-27 Montreal Canadiens. Amazingly crystal-clear photography, the work of noted photographer Lucien Desjardins, features members of the team standing on wooden planks outside the Forum in a classic pose of the era. This serious-looking bunch (not a single smile in the group!) includes legends Howie Morenz, Aurele Joliat and George Hainsworth, as well as Herb Gardiner (far left), the latter helping to date the piece. Canadiens' historians will also be able to spot Pit Lepine, Marty Burke, Wildor Larochelle, "Battleship" Leduc, Gizzy Hart and Sylvio Mantha, with Leo Dandurand at the far right. This remarkably well-preserved photograph, exhibiting moderate wear expected of its age, measures 7" by 24", ready to be framed.
