Graded NM 7 by PSA. Of the 23 examples on record with PSA the offered card is the second finest, with a mere one example having been graded at a higher level. Ty Cobb had 12 batting titles to his credit with 9 in a row- just stop and think about that for a second! Winning the batting title every year save one for an entire decade, it's almost comical. The offered collectible features Tyrus in a batting pose with the split grip that he employed so as to have more bat control. Three years after the issue of the offered card Cobb became so enraged with all of the talk of Babe Ruth and his colossal homeruns, that he shrugged off Ruth's accomplishments, saying that hitting homeruns was not all that special. To prove his point he slid his hands down the barrel in a Ruthian style and hit three homeruns in one game and to emphasize it he hit two more the next day. Expertly centered with a well-registered image of the great ball player. Each of the four corners is of a mid level NM variety with a slight lift to the upper right extension. The reverse is well printed and void of any caramel staining. An alluring, slightly esoteric period Cobb card offered in NM condition.
