While we're fortunate enough to offer an amazing array of high-quality cards from this iconic set, presented before you is unquestionably the grand prize of the 1911 T3 Turkey Red collection, a specimen so stunning as to make even the most advanced collector take notice. Offered is a museum-quality example of one of the most recognized baseball cards in the hobby, a T3 Turkey Red cabinet card featuring the legendary Ty Cobb! The 1911 season was a career-best for Cobb, leading the league in batting average, runs, hits, doubles, triples, RBI, stolen bases and slugging percentage while being unanimously voted the American League MVP. The evaluators at PSA, known for their rigid critique of early 20th Century cabinet cards, have graded this remarkable specimen at EX/MT 6, but as you can see for yourself, the overall appearance exceeds that evaluation. This miraculous artifact shows surprisingly little corner wear, with the lower left being the only endpoint that shows more than negligible chipping, while the interior of the card is virtually beyond words, immediately transforming the viewer's attention into a hypnotic stare. The surface colors are absolutely overwhelming, projecting forth with a plethora of hues and tones that coalesce with precise focus and detail to create a tour de force worthy of Rembrandt or Da Vinci. The reverse is clean and brilliantly struck, offering an appearance that is decades younger than it's chronological age and enhancing its appeal even greater! Only a pair of T3 Cobb examples have ever graded higher, as these beauties rarely survive the ravages of time in better than VG/EX condition.
