One of just six subjects featured in the 1911 Sporting Life M110 series, this Christy Mathewson card features an awe-inspiring pitching pose, front foot lifted off the ground and ball in hand ready to deliver another "fadeaway" (notice how deep in his palm the ball is). Of course, all M110's are rare with less than 20 total Mathewson examples that have been professionally graded. This example is graded by SGC 30 GOOD 2 with the usual rounded corners, some discoloration and minor wear on the reverse. Similar to the Honus Wagner M110 also within this auction, presented is one of the greatest baseball subjects ever to appear on a cabinet card from one of the most substantial and well made card sets ever produced.
