Offered is an extremely bright and presentable rendition of the all-important E102 "set of 25" caramel card featuring Ty Cobb, which most hobbyists consider to be Cobb's "rookie card" as it is the first appearance of Cobb on a traditional sized baseball card. Issued in 1908, the featured collectible displays a surreal depiction of the fine batsman, clad in the road grays of the Detroit Tigers and set against a fiery yellow background. The surface is replete with a crease-free presentation highlighted by a smooth layer of glistening sheen that immediately catches the attention of the enthusiastic onlooker. The perimeter of the card offers smooth edges with no apparent obstructions. Each of the four corners appear moderately rounded with a slight hint of layering apparent at the upper left corner. The centering, although noticeably askew, is perfectly framed from left to right. The reverse is a well-preserved tablet with a deeply imprinted list of subjects from the scarce issue, many of whom have become immortals of the game. An opportunity to acquire a card that is widely considered to be Ty Cobb's rookie pasteboard in enchanting and pleasing VG/EX condition.
