Though a relatively unremarkable player who was more known for his defensive deficiencies as a catcher than his hitting prowess, once leading the league in passed balls while playing in only 45 games, there's nothing unremarkable about this rare 1908-1909 Rose Postcard of Jay Justin "Nig" Clarke, graded PSA 5. While each of the grade appropriate corners exhibits chipping and wear, the green surface and gold embossed artistry around the crisp black and white photo is simply stunning. Even the lightly toned reverse successfully combines a conflicting mix of nostalgia and freshness.
