Offered is a stunning example of this fanciful postcard that was issued by the Charles Rose Postcard Company in 1908-09. Without question one of the more attractive and fascinating issues of the era. A blazing green base which constitutes the diamond surrounded by a faux gold leafing around the image of the player as well as the two crossed bats. The featured copy of Pittsburgh Pirate Deacon Phillippi is the highest graded example from our most recent grouping. A close inspection reveals very minor wear along the tips of the corners which most likely is the basis for the grade.
