Cornelius F. Daily spent the 1888 season playing for the Indianapolis Hoosiers of the National League and is checklisted in the Standard Catalog under the N173 Old Judge Cabinets. Offered is cabinet card bearing the "Copyright 1888 Goodwin & Co, NY" notation; however this appears to be a different pose than that seen on his N173 issue, and is in fact one of the poses seen on his standard N172 issue. That, coupled with the fact that the photo is affixed to an anonymous thick, yellow mount, rather than an Old Judge or Dog's Head mount, leads us to believe that this is possibly a proof card. The card consists of a 3 7/8" x 5 1/2" photo affixed to the aforementioned mount, which displays period writing on the reverse along with evidence of the mount having been glued into an album at some point. The lower right corner has been clipped and there is a bit of paper loss in the shoulder area of the photo, along with a self-evident intrusion into the left border, but the image is relatively clear and well-registered.
