Issued by the Charles Gross & Co. of Philadelphia, this exceptionally elusive Kalamazoo Bats card is a rare survivor from the late 19th century and part of one of the most interesting sets ever made. Described by some collectors as an Old Judge card on steroids, the set is thought to have 61 cards, and this one features Denny Lyons and trainer Billy Taylor and is graded SGC 30 GOOD 2. The perimeter of the card and sharpness of the image clearly surpasses the assessed grade but heavy creasing in several areas tempers the grade. A fantastic example for the type of collector who has always wanted to add an attractive example of this ultra-rare relic from the early days of the game.
