"Smiling Mickey" Welsh won 307 games over a 13-year period but it didn't stop the designers of Old Judge tobacco cards from misspelling his name. Here's an old relic that rates as one of the very finest in existence, not just for the Mickey Welsh card but for the entire Old Judge series! While the centering is not quite accurate, hardly a capital offense for the issue, the amazingly clean and well-contrasted image of the Hall of Famer is simply captivating. This is the only specimen ever to grade at PSA 7 with just one graded higher, a PSA 8 card that sold for a five-digit bounty a few years back. In a word ... awesome!
