In today's game of baseball, a pitcher that notches 200 career wins is considered a superstar; John Clarkson did it in 5 seasons! Granted the game was a lot different then and pitchers no longer start 70 games or pitch over 600 innings, but a career winning percentage of .648 is impressive in any era. Featured on this 1887 Allen & Ginter card, the wonderfully artist image of Clarkson is supported by a pearl-white backdrop and sharp corners that represent the NM grading tier with pride. A fantastic 19th Century relic!
