Newly Discovered 1915 E145 Cracker Jack Advertising Poster Leads Off Mile High Card Company April 2016 Auction

Centennial, CO – Mile High Card Company is ready to welcome the new baseball season with a stunning April 2016 auction, kicking off with the most recent hobby find, a 1915 E145 Cracker Jack advertising poster that was discovered in a barn in the upper Midwest. Once used as a display piece in local candy shops to promote the Cracker Jack baseball card offered with each purchase of a box of the caramel covered popcorn, there are now less than five known to exist. “It’s only fitting that such a rare and incredible piece of history starts off this event, but there are so many world-class items in what is one of our deepest auctions to date.” said MHCC President and CEO Brian Drent. The auction is open for bidding on April 18th and closes May 5th.

Speaking of Cracker Jack, the advertising poster is immediately followed by one of the most iconic issues ever produced, a 1914 Cracker Jack #30 Ty Cobb PSA 8 NM/MT, with several other high-grade specimens: 1915 Cracker Jack #3 Joe Tinker NM/MT+ 8.5, 1915 Cracker Jack #32 Mordecai Brown NM+ 7.5, 1915 Cracker Jack #93 Derrill Pratt MINT 9, 1915 Cracker Jack #99 Hal Chase MINT 9, and 1915 Cracker Jack #161 Edward Rousch (Roush) MINT 9. T206 collectors will be particularly pleased with the selection as well, over 75 examples that include a Carolina Brights Christy Mathewson, Black Lenox Hal Chase Holding Trophy and two Green Portrait Ty Cobb cards, leading up to a T206 Complete Set Minus “The Big Four” with PSA graded. Three extremely scarce W600 Sporting Life Cabinets will also be offered: 1902-11 W600 Sporting Life Napoleon Lajoie PSA 6 EX/MT, 1902-11 W600 Sporting Life Honus Wagner VG/EX 4 and 1902-11 Sporting Life W600 Christy Mathewson GOOD+ 2.5.

MHCC is recognized as the leading auctioneer of 1952 Topps cards and this event proves to be no exception. With over 140 1952 Topps cards graded PSA 8 or PSA 9, including 1952 Topps #261 Willie Mays PSA 8 NM/MT and 1952 Topps #321 Joe Black PSA 9 MINT, PSA Set Registry specialists will find plenty of opportunity to increase that set rating. In addition, there’s a perfectly centered 1952 Topps #311 Mickey Mantle PSA 6.5 EX/MT+ up for auction that rivals many higher graded examples, a 1952 Topps #1 Andy Pafko Black Back PSA 7 NM and a visually pleasing 1952 Topps #311 Mickey Mantle FAIR 1.5 for the more modest collector.
