Graded MINT 9 by PSA. The offered example of Mick's 1958 Topps card is a recently graded example that stands at the entrance to that of a higher grade. Long considered one of the most desired cards ever produced that has yet to register a GEM MINT specimen on the PSA pop report, the 1958 Topps card of Mickey Mantle has found its way to PSA headquarters over 4,732 times and the featured collectible is one of only 27 to manage the impressive assessment of PSA 9. Unlike Mantle cards issued by Topps in the past, which were either artist's drawings or an on-field shot as in the '57 Topps series, the 1958 pasteboard of "The Commerce Comet" presented a close up portrait of the New York icon, surrounded in a deep pumpkin like orange surrounding a lifelike image of the Mick adorned with a deep steely blue Yankee cap with the famous intertwined NY. Each of the four corners are pronounced exact ninety degree angle with absolutely no thought of wear present at any endpoint. The centering is astute with pure white borders and the surface is a scintillating palate of original gloss that has seemingly turned the lights onto this magnificent pasteboard. The reverse is a well printed presentation without disturbances such as staining or unwanted blemishes. A card that we offer in stunning and altogether commendable MINT condition.
