Most of you, especially those that are advanced Desert Shield set builders, are probably thinking, "Factory set? There's no such thing!" Well yes, and no. The featured 1991 Desert Shield complete set was gifted to a high-ranking Topps executive and the cards never went through the process of being packed and shipped overseas. Just like the 1991 Desert Shield packs and wax boxes, which show no difference to the mainstream product until you open them, this set is packed in a standard 1991 Topps factory box. Like most factory sets, this set is not collated but you can see by the pattern on the exposed side of the cards, they are untouched as they went straight from the cutter into the box. The consignor is the daughter of the Topps executive and we can divulge that her name is Tiffany, the namesake to the wildly popular Topps Tiffany sets. There is not a fresher Desert Shield set anywhere in the hobby; who knows how many GEM MINT examples might be within. Maybe even Chipper Jones?
Unique 1991 Topps Desert Shield Kindred "Factory Set" Given to Topps Executive with Extensive Family Provenance
