OK, this card won't set you back hundreds of thousands of dollars, but maybe it should! Every collector knows the T206 Honus Wagner card is considered the premier pasteboard in the entire hobby. As the story goes, Wagner didn't want to be associated with the tobacco industry and had his T206 card halted from production, leaving the hobby with was is commonly thought to be 60-70 surviving copies. Perhaps Wagner had a change of heart or just stopped fighting the good fight as here he is, "The Flying Dutchman" on this T216 Kotton Cigarettes issue, graded AUTHENTIC by PSA. As the only throwing - s.s. specimen ever graded by PSA with none on record at SGC, it appears to be a true one of a kind item that makes the fabled T206 issue seem commonplace by comparison. Previously pasted in an album as was the custom at the time, the reverse shows expected staining but no paper loss, delivering a pleasing advertisement of Kotton Cigarettes, a branch of People's Tobacco of New Orleans, white the image of Wagner and the surrounding color is still well-kept. Some moderate creasing is evident but does it really matter? It's not a T206 Wagner, but if you think about it, in a lot of ways it's even better!
