Once you reach NM/MT territory for the T206 series, you've entered into a realm that precious few dare to tread. And when it's a Hall of Famer the likes of "Wahoo" Sam Crawford, then you've got yourself a world-class showpiece. Next season will make a century since Crawford retired and he's still the all-time leader in triples with 309, topping the league six times and hitting at least 10 three-baggers for 17 consecutive seasons. The centering is close to perfect while each corner has the sharpness of a MINT specimen, with the top two endpoints experiencing the normal enamel loss at the extreme tips, visible only under magnification. The image of Crawford is extraordinary, with deep yellow-orange and green pigments supporting the perfectly registered likeness of the great turn of the century speedster. The Piedmont reverse is clean and up to the task of supporting the lofty grade, the one and only SGC 88 NM/MT 8 specimen on record with none graded higher. A fantastic example equal to the greatness of the player himself!
