Killed in an airplane accident at the age of 42, golfing great Payne Stewart's autograph is one of the most coveted of any athlete dedicated to the links. Just 4 months prior to his passing, Stewart captured the 1999 U. S. Open with a one-stroke victory over Phil Mickelson. The presented piece is a fitting tribute to that major victory, showing an 18th hole U.S. Open flag that is autographed in marker by the flamboyant Stewart, along with tickets to each of the four days of the tournament plus the supplemental 5th-day playoff phantom ticket.
