The offered 1915 Cracker Jack example of Walter Johnson has been graded SGC 86 NM+ 7.5 but presents strong NM/MT or better qualities in many categories. Above-grade NM/MT corners, showing virtually no imperfections, join equally incisive edges around a well-preserved and deeply saturated central image of Johnson. The back boasts bold, black print and appears virtually brand new, while the nameplate on the front shows just a small handful of perfectly characteristic pin pricks of print. The image itself show the vaunted hurler in mid-windup, rearing back with his typical ease to unleash "The Big Train" against an unknown competitor, perhaps Ty Cobb, who faced Johnson more times in his career than any other hitter-pitcher combination in MLB history. An elite specimen deserving of every consideration, this beauty should provide a formidable challenge to acquire!
