Charles Klein Stobbs will forever be remembered as the pitcher who served up a meatball that Mickey Mantle blasted completely out of Griffith Stadium in Washington, traveling an estimated 565 feet. You can help preserve that moment in baseball history with this 1952 Topps card, graded NM/MT 8 by PSA and featuring the markedly scarcer black back. The colors on this pasteboard are extraordinarily bold and vivacious, looking pack-fresh under an ample dosage of original factory gloss. A not-uncommon counterclockwise centering tilt exists, but does not detract from the overall lure and appeal of this incredibly clean card. Pop 5 in the given grade.
