The finest T206 Ty Cobb specimen we've ever encountered in the grade of EX/MT 6 from PSA. Offered is an exceptionally robust Sweet Caporal example of Cobb's popular "Bat Off Shoulder" variation that boasts a stalwart EX/MT to NM perimeter around an obverse image of the very finest order; the lithographic print is both conspicuous and accurate, producing a profoundly sharp image of the hawk-eyed future Hall of Famer par excellence. The accuracy and depth evident in Cobb's facial features is beautifully silhouetted by a cake-like spectrum of brilliant background colors, with a small reminder of Detroit's burgeoning industry found in the miniscule smoke-stack rising from the violet mist sandwiched between the green outfield grass and golden summer evening sky. The obverse centering reveals a subtle preference for the east edge, while the surface shows a few pin pricks of print or flecking, so minuscule they're difficult to discern even under magnification. The reverse is well-printed and shows a touch or two of extraneous ink from stacking, but there are absolutely no significant traces of tobacco staining anywhere throughout either surface of this shimmering T206 jewel. Very highly recommended, the winner of this high-end EX/MT T206 Cobb will be pleased to encounter print and other qualities he or she may not find on a NM or even NM/MT specimen.
