Though he may not have played in a large media market like Mays and Mantle, Harmon Killebrew was every bit the home run basher. Six times Killebrew led the league in home runs, and while his 1955 Topps rookie card is overshadowed by rookie issues of Clemente and Koufax, it nevertheless holds its own distinction among collectors. Graded NM/MT 88 by SGC, this offering sports four superior corners of which more than one can make a case for the next tier of grading. The deep yellow background that gradually fades to a faint tint as you go east to west is clean and solid throughout with no print flaws and is accentuated by the still abundant surface gloss. Well centered with clean borders front and back, this is a beautiful specimen that deserves an invitation to join the elite.
