Graded 8.5 NM/MT+ by PSA. "Moose" Skowron broke in with the Yankees in 1954 and batted .340 with a .577 slugging average in his rookie season when New York won 103 games. A mainstay in the Bronx for the next eight seasons, he would appear in seven World Series with the Yankees, winning four rings before being traded to the Dodgers, with whom he won a fifth ring in 1963, batting .385 with a home run against his former team. Offered here is an exceptionally presentable example of "Moose's" 1954 Topps rookie issue that boasts a freshness and cleanliness more commonly associated with MINT specimens. Near perfectly centered with a NM/MT+ perimeter around a vibrant surface with only a few nominal traces of print.
