It was customary for major league baseball to issue season passes to certain dignitaries, and at the top of the list were the President and Vice President of the United States. This 1923 National League season pass was given to the Honorable Vice President Calvin Coolidge and party and is signed by National League President John Heydler, the No. 2 pass issued with No.1 most assuredly going to President Warren G. Harding. Before the season was over though, Coolidge would ascent to the Presidency following Harding's sudden death in early August. The pass comes with a clear window sleeve with "Compliments of the National League" stamped in gold. A fantastic item that bridges political and baseball history.
