The numbers – at least the big league ones – do not do justice to his legend. The stories, however, keep alive the memory of a man who became bigger than the game. Leroy “Satchel” Paige was bigger than mere numbers. Offered is a stunning Type I photo that measures 8 1/4" x 10" and was issued in Paige's rookie year of 1948 with the Cleveland Indians. A deep well focused image gives amazing depth to this important photo. The reverse features Emmitt Wiggins stamp as well as a hand written date of 10/31/48. Included is an LOA from PSA/DNA Henry Yee as well as an LOA from Louisville Slugger.
