After taking the first two games in Pittsburgh, the "Murderer's Row " Yankees came back to the Big Apple and utterly destroyed the Pirates in Game 3, pasting the Bucs for 8 runs behind a Babe Ruth homer and a double and triple from Lou Gehrig while Herb Pennock was king of the hill again with a three-hitter. The next night, the pinstripers closed out the series to complete the greatest season in American sports history.
