The Louisville Slugger Model U1 bat is famous for its flared handle with no knob at the end, a favorite among many players that include Alan Trammell and Roberto Clemente. The featured Model U1 bat wan't used on the field of batter but rather produced for a signing event for baseball's all-time hits leader Peter Rose, who utilized the U1 during his rookie season of 1963. It's thought that just 10 of these bats were made for the event, with this being the only one that wasn't autographed because the wood was too dark in the location where Rose likes to sign.
