O-Pee-Chee cards were distributed in Canada, and for the most part, they look very similar to their Topps counterparts with some slight differences in color. The 1973 O-Pee-Chee series has the addition of bilingual headings and of course, the "O.P.C. PRINTED IN CANADA" on the reverse. Featured is an incredible GEM MINT rookie card of Ron Cey and Hall of Famer Mike Schmidt from our friends to the north. When this card was distributed, neither Cey nor Schmidt were established starters, making the card an afterthought to most collectors regardless of country. But it didn't take long for these talented 3rd basemen to make an impact on their respective coasts. A truly pure white canvas with bold royal blue names and perfectly delivered photos is well-placed in the center and possesses a boldness that outpaces the Topps version. Each corner is virtual perfection, a tall task considering the almost obligatory rough cut, mild by typical O-Pee-Chee standards. Only 5 others have reached the top rung of the PSA grading ladder, making it a savvy addition that cannot be overlooked in its beauty and importance.
