If you want to be the National League batting champion, it's not a bad idea to borrow a bat from a former champ that uses an almost identical club. Hall of Fame legend Roberto Clemente used Dick Groat's model O16 Louisville Slugger and it appeared to pay big dividends for the Puerto Rican sensation. The C-16 style centerbrand and Powerized version P-9 confirms the date, with Groat's signature and "used by Clemente" inscription added near the barrel, which shows heavy game use. Clemente's familiar "21" is written on the knob in his own hand and the specs of the bat are 35 oz. and 36", similar specs and the same model Clemente used to order for himself. LOA from John Taube - PSA/DNA.
