The presented example of Ty Cobb's famous T206 Bat Off Shoulder variant has been graded NM/MT 8 by the cardboard perfectionists at PSA and is without question the single sharpest T206 Cobb specimen we've ever offered in the NM/MT 8 class. At first inspection of this esteemed jewel it quickly becomes abundantly clear that you are in fact not inspecting just any NM/MT example but rather the best NM/MT example you may ever encounter. Four pillar like endpoints surround the interior of this pasteboard much like a fortress and have done so through the offered card's 107 year journey. The points of distinction retain a freshness and uniformity of perfection not often encountered within the NM/MT grade but rather more often found within a grading tier a level or two to the north of the opined assessment. The centering of this virtuoso is spot on from left to right as well as from north to south perfectly acting as the boundary to greatness and framing the surname "Cobb" and team designation of "Detroit" magnificently along the southern border. While all of these features have lifted the artwork from common to sublime, it is the image quality of the famed batsman that elevates the card to an otherworldly keepsake. The colors acting in a harmonious sync play on an enthusiasts emotions like a puppet master. The combination of the majestic green diamond shown in the background to the steel gray high colored uniform and the mahogany bat in the foreground bring an admiring hobbyist to a crescendo. All of this magic is held beneath a subtle yet entrancing layer of fine gloss. The reverse plays no second fiddle in this masterpiece offering a spot free appearance of a Sweet Caporal advertisement in a perfectly hued red set against a stark white palate.
