The most popular card in the fabled 1955 Topps All-American set doesn't belong to any single player, but is shared by a quartet of legends that comprised the Notre Dame backfield, the Four Horsemen. Stuhldreher, Crowley, Miller, and Laden, decked head-to-toe in their vibrant green and rust-colored uniforms, gather together, hands on knees, to catch their collective breath from the creative play-calling of coach Knute Rockne. None of the four stood taller than 6-feet, and none weighed more than 162 pounds, yet they would lose a total of just two games in 1922 and 1923. The offered specimen hails as one of the finest examples in existence with none graded higher. The card pushes for GEM MINT status in virtually all regards save for the left to right horizontal centering, which is barely noticeable against the brilliant yellow coloring within. This is about as good as it gets and a perfect addition for any collector looking to rank atop the best of the best on the PSA Set Registry.
