One of Topps' first specialty issues, the 1956 Pins series consists of a large percentage of stars and HOFers. Factoring in the popularity of the subjects and the legitimate scarcity of the pins makes compiling a complete set a truly daunting task. The same portraits used for the 1956 Topps baseball cards are utilized for the pins. Presented is the very finest 1956 Topps Pins set ever assembled, ranked #1 on the PSA Current and All-Time Finest Set Registry with an impressive set rating of 8.43, nearly a full point higher than its next closest competitor. Three subjects appear to have been produced in far fewer numbers but are offered here in the highest grade known: Chuck Diering PSA 8, Hector Lopez PSA 8 and Chuck Stobbs PSA 7. Other highlights include a "one of one" Aaron PSA 9 MINT, Mays PSA 7, Mathews PSA 8 NM, Rizzuto PSA 8 (one of 2 none higher), and T. Williams PSA 8. In addition to Aaron, others that stand alone as the only example at the grade with none graded higher include Fowler PSA 8, Long PSA 9 MINT, Mossi PSA 9 MINT, Hodges PSA 9 MINT, Black PSA 9 MINT, Smith PSA 9 MINT and Spahn PSA 9 MINT. Of the 60 pins in the set, 38 are offered at the highest existing grade, according to the PSA population report. A spectacularly well-preserved and colorful collection, here's your opportunity to vault to the top of the standings with a collection that is virtually impossible to beat!
